Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

CRIP CAMP: After Discussion with Wendy Elliott-Vandivier

Crip Camp is a joyous and exuberant Netflix documentary which arrives the same year as the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, at a time when the country’s largest minority group still battles daily for equality and the freedom to exist. In the early 1970’s teenagers with disabilities faced a future shaped by isolation, discrimination and institutionalization. Camp Jened, a ramshackle camp for disabled teens in the Catskills, exploded those confines.

Watch the film on your own on Netflix, and then join us on Zoom for Havdalah and an after discussion led by Or Hadash’s own Wendy Elliott-Vandivier, an artist and long-time disability advocate/ activist.

This event is offered free of charge - RSVP is required: http://tiny.cc/OHCripCamp
