Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

Summer Mussar

Summer Mussar will be taking place for the tenth consecutive year at Or Hadash. These biweekly sessions are intended to be both maintenance for ongoing Mussar students as well as an introduction to Mussar for new students.

This summer we will again be studying Alan Morinis’ With Heart in Mind, a book which describes many methods for changing our behavior to reflect a more mindful consideration of others. For those who wish to read ahead, we will start with Chapter 39 where we left off last summer and cover two chapters each class. The book is available from amazon.com for about $16 (Kindle) and $19 (paperback).

The sessions will take place on Zoom from 7:00-9:00 pm on every other Tuesday, starting June 30. The dates are 6/30, 7/14, 7/28, 8/11, and 8/25. Please let me know if you plan to attend, and I will provide a Zoom link. Otherwise, there is no need for advance registration. No prior Mussar knowledge is needed, and attendance is not necessary at all sessions to benefit from the program, since each session will be stand-alone. I will lead the first meeting and then depend on volunteers to lead the remaining four. There is no fee for the program.

Please contact me, Marty Jacobs (martin.jacobs@verizon.net), for the Zoom link and if you have any questions.
