Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

Workshop - Lead an Evening Service

Workshop from Spiritual Life, Adult Education & Chesed Committees: Lead an Evening Service

From 6:15-7:45 pm*;  Co-led by Rabbi Alanna and Cheryl Berson

1st workshop in Lay Leader Boot Camp – A Three Part Series to Build Your Jewish Communal Muscles

Would you like to give back to your community by leading services or Torah study? We need you! Or Hadash often has opportunities for volunteers to lead Friday night Shabbat services, Shiva services or Torah study.  Are you interested but think you don’t have the skills? Maybe you have led services or Torah study before but you would like to expand your skills. Join us for Lay Leader Bootcamp!

Whether it’s Friday night or at a weekday shiva minyan, the ma’ariv (evening) service helps us as a community through the transition from our hectic days into the calm relaxation of the night. Join Cheryl Berson & Rabbi Alanna for a skill-building workshop to learn to lead (and customize) a ma’ariv service.

Mark your calendars for #2: Planning an Awesome Torah Study – Thursday, March 5th (6:15-7:45pm)* and #3: How to Officiate your Friend’s Wedding! This will be held on Sunday morning, 4/19/20. More details to follow!

*Both Tuesday evening sessions are free for all OH members. There will be an optional $7 charge for dinner (we’ll take orders following RSVP), or you can bring your own dinner.

Questions and RSVPs to the office.
