Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

Shabbat Havurah

Shabbat Havurah is a great opportunity to connect with fellow Or Hadashers and welcome Shabbat in a communal, relaxed, and joyous way.  If you've been before, you know how nice it is to be together.  If you've never come, this is a great time to give it a try.  We'll begin to gather around 6:30 pm.  We always start with a brief Happy Hour with appetizers and a glass of wine or soft drink. Next we join together to light the candles, say Kiddush and Ha'motzi and then enjoy a catered meal (no cooking!!).  After the meal, we have a brief 20 minute Friday night service, followed by oneg and an interactive, discussion-based program.  We usually wrap up between 8:45 and 9:00 pm.  If you'd like to join in, please RSVP to Alisa Belzer, alisabelzer@gmail.com.
