Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

Youth Activities

Or Hadash is a founding member of No’ar Hadash, the Reconstructionist Youth Movement. No’ar Hadash (Hebrew for "new youth") promotes and fosters creative, innovative, and fun Jewish youth programming from a uniquely Reconstructionist perspective. Created by teens for teens, No’ar Hadash is an amazing experience for teens in grades 8-12.

The North American Teen Kallah, a No’ar Hadash program, allows teens from across North America the opportunity to gather in a different city each year, to engage in a weekend of exploration, fun, and friendship. In addition, an Israel experience geared for students entering 11th grade allows them to see the country through a Reconstructionist lens. Several times during the year, Or Hadash teens meet with our Educational Director, Lori Rubin, and have the opportunity to plan events such as retreats, fondue parties, social action projects, and trips.

Or Hadash also has its own youth groups, for students in grade 3 and above, which provide opportunities for families to get together for grade level potluck events and other activities. At Or Hadash, we strive to create programs that speak to our teens, pre-teens, and their families. We provide social experiences that build friendships and strengthen our community.
