Shedding New Light on Jewish Traditions

Shabbat at Congregation Temple Beth'El in Oak Lane

Erev Shabbat Service with and at Congregation Temple Beth'El in West Oak Lane at 7:30pm. Their address is 7351 Lowber St, Philadelphia, 19138-1139.

Please note: There will not be a service at Or Hadash that evening.

Background information: Or Hadash has been joining with Congregation Temple Beth'El for Friday evening services on Martin Luther King's Birthday weekend, alternating hosting yearly, for more than six years. It is a truly unique and joyous evening and we hope you will join us! Congregation Temple Beth'El is one of many synagogues around the country that serve the African American Jewish community. Judaism, like Islam, Christianity and most other faiths, is diverse, yet there is sometimes a lack of awareness of this diversity despite large numbers of Jews from Africa, India, China and other regions. Please observe Congregation Temple Beth’El’s request that all women wear skirts and men wear jackets and ties while we are guests in their home. Visit their website at http://www.bethel-ph.org. Parking is limited and carpooling recommended.
